The First Day

I’ve had a conflicted relationship with technology during quarantine. Yesterday, I laid in bed for a good portion of the day deep in my thoughts. I “zoomed” all morning and decided that I earned some time to be still. Did you ever think “zooming” would be such a popular word? Well, in my stillness, I stumbled upon the movie Julie and Julia with Meryl Streep and Amy Adams. I guess then, I wasn’t really being still. Anyway, in the movie, both characters call forth what inspires them and they both decide to do something about it. So, here I am. Intrigued by a PRETTY true romantic comedy, I decided to start writing. From the heart. As a side note, I just adore a good rom com. Call me lame, but they fill my soul. Something else you need to know about me is that I’m fascinated by signs, colors and yes, the voices that speak to me in my dreams. I was once told to listen to my dreams and for a while I was too afraid to do so. I’d often dismiss them as “just the strangest dream.” But the more I listened and paid attention, I knew I was being directed in a fun, scary, wild sort of way. So to confirm this creative burst that I had been playing with in my dream world, I went to the cards. Yes, I keep these amazing chakra wisdom cards by Tori Hartman close by me. Always. It’s a fun way to confirm or redirect some of the silly or intuitive feelings that rise up from within. This morning I gave the cards a good shuffle and low and behold I pulled the “Creation” card. Under the key Ideas section it read~ “Opening to magic; lasting transformation; divine feminine; awakening creativity; finding your muse; owning your gifts.” That was all I needed to take the plunge and experience the water, freely. As I end this first attempt of a post I want to share this…I was chatting with one of my favorite humans the other day about creating organically versus having all of your ducks in a row. In other words, the process is the gold. This rising will be organic. So, if you’re here reader. Thank you. And now I press share.
